How we work with investors?
We work with investment professionals throughout the entire life cycle of an investment…
From sourcing to evaluating, managing and exiting deals, our platform applies world-class operating expertise to portfolio companies to help you realise the value in your investments.
Due Diligence
During the due diligence process we work alongside investors to identify potential upside opportunities and synergies in acquisition targets, establish a future cost base, and support the provision of an initial valuation.
We validate the operating model, and help structure the deal through the identification of operational risk. We typically stay involved with the leadership team throughout the transaction lifecycle, and assist in scoping the 100-day plan.
Operational Execution
As proven business leaders our focus is on working with investors to accelerate the value creation of portfolio companies, playing an active role through the lifetime of a given investment. Depending on identified operational risk we typically integrate ourselves fully within a platform investment, often taking on the role of an active chairman.
We spend a significant amount of time on-site, working closely with management teams, giving high-level guidance, helping to identify and implement growth strategies, and, where required, involve ourselves in the day-to-day operations of a portfolio company.
M&A and Exits
Considerations of inorganic growth options whilst ensuring that operational goals remain a focus is a perennial consideration for the Board. As Operating Partners we provide a uniquely balanced perspective, we are there to provide qualified inputs to decision support.
Achievement of positive follow-on investments or value-creating exits is the ultimate reward and outcome for a well-executed growth strategy. Building towards these events requires careful planning. Cress is well experienced in managing and delivering these outcomes.
“Cress is filling a much-needed gap in the New Zealand ecosystem. Their operational expertise and real-world experience complements our skills as growth investors”
